one step closer

today we booked the photographer, we are closer and closer to the date. you can go and look at the photographers work at www.freelandphotography.com. we are so exited to work with mike freeland. his pictures are amazing and so untraditional. that's why i loved loved loved them! mom, dad, mike, and i went to make our package and paid the deposit today.

we are hopefully going to book the florist soon. we have a couple of bids in the works. tomorrow i'm going with dad to look at the candle obras that the church rented to see if i'm interested in those as well.

tomorrow is also the christmas eve service at church. i'm going to sing and read the small one to the kids during the service. then after of course....its present time!!!! i'll write soon to tell you what was opened!!!!

It's over!!!

hey there everyone.....sorry it took so long but i have been way busy!!! The semester is finally over again. and i'm set up to graduate in may. super excited for that! mike and i have been traveling back and forth to independence for mom and dad. we have been helping with youth group on wednesday and i also filled-in atkids church for a sunday. it was alot of fun. i love love love love kids. mike and i have been having a blast with the teenagers. we love getting to know them.

last sunday the kids said their parts that they had been assigned by miss suzie. they walked up to "pastor" (dad) and they said their parts to "pastor" and the congregation. they were so cute. one little boy that love love loves my dad walked up to him and said "pastor i have a secret..." he then stood up on his tiptoes and dad leaned over and listened. the little boy then started whispering to dad and he placed his little hand on dad's face. it was so precious! these little kids are so cute.

tonight i got to see my most favorest cousins in the world! ash and livie!! i love them so much! we exchanged presents with them and aunt shirley also gave us our presents. livie got a purse that included keys, money, a mirror, and lipstick! she was walking around all night putting it on. after seeing them tonight i realized how much i miss them. they are growing up way too fast!

i'm going home tomorrow for break, ready to start shopping hardcore for christmas presents. hopefully our engagement pictures that we ordered will be there so that mom and i can start our save-the-date cards. also i have a ton of wedding stuff to finalize! i'm super excited!

well there is the update. i promise to write more my friends!!

one word: BUSY!!!!

So sorry but i have been super super super busy!!!!! i have to total of 7 meetings this week 4 of which are on the same day. One test and two projects due this week. Working on a group paper that's due right after thanksgiving. heading to indpendence tomorrow with mike to preach in youth group and help lead worship. and getting read to head to a 2 hour campus leadership meeting at 9.....all of this equals a wonderful life in the last days of the semester.

I Can't Believe It!!!!

So i got a piece of exciting news today!!!!! Actually a couple!!!! #1 is that i'm going to graduate in MAY....yes this MAY.....which means i will graduate on tuesday and then get married on friday!!! all that equals a REALLY GREAT week! lol now next semester may possibly kill me but i know that i can do it! i'm going to be taking 20 credits. which is 3 credits more than normal but i just want to get done!!! there is one more catch....i have to write a letter to the BOA to get permission to graduate without my intership completed. So please pray for them to approve it!
#2 piece of great information is that i got the finacial aid office to split the cost of their mistake. Last week we found a mistake on my bill resulting in me still owing 1000 dollars!!! Needless to say i was a bit worried on how i was going to pay that....but i made another meeting with the vice president of operations at the school and they told me that i would only have to pay 500!!! Super stoked about that!!!!! all i can say is THANK YOU JESUS!!!
Mike and I also got our engagement pictures yesterday!!! It was sooooo much fun!!! They are supposed to be ready for your viewing pleasure in about a week.....it was really really windy but i think we got some great shots!!! i will post them later!
Other than that i'm super ready to get the weekend on!!! Going to Independence this weekend, and on to Iowa on Monday and back to Springfield on Tuesday!!!! woohooo!!

Sorry its been so long since I wrote!!!! I have been super busy!!!! Yesterday and today was homecoming and since I work for the alumni office.....its been kinda busy busy!!! I worked for 12 hrs yesterday but i had a blast!!! I love meeting all the people that graduated before me!!! They have so many stories to tell and I loved listening to them.

Also I'm now the new editor of the Cup which is the name of the CBC yearbook. We haven't had a yearbook since I got here, so i figured that I would start helping out. I haven't the foggiest idea what i'm really doing but i'm going to try my hardest!

Tonight was the CBC opening game of basketball. We won by like 60 points it was a great game! Ill put some pictures up later promise!

Weekend Scareting

So tonight was the 1st ever scarting party put on by delti chi at CBC. We rented out the local roller-skating rink and you could dress up if you wanted too-we didn't. Here are a few of the pics i took...i had some trouble with the lighting...but it Mike and i in one Mike and Ryan fixing one Ryan's skates, and Ryan with his girlfriend Hannah, getting ready to skate!! We had such a great time! I didn't fall once...Ryan did.....BAD!!!! It was ALOT of fun!!! Mike and I already are talking about what we are going to dress up as next year!!!! (The best dressed guy and girl get $25 CASH!!!)

So i'm sooooo....ready for this weekend.....even though we only had classes for 3 days....i was sooo ready!!!!! BTW i got a 79% on that test that i was really really nervous for and studied pracically all the Gospels for!!!! I'm pretty happy about it!!!

Tomorrow mike and I go back to Independence to help mom finish some things up from last weekend!!! i'm pretty excited-she is making homemade mac-n-cheese!!!! One of my favorites things!!!! Have a great weekend all!!!

Only 6 More Weeks!!!!

We have officially entered the last 6 weeks of this semester and like always its a shock to me how fast semesters roll through my life. I can't believe this will be the end of the 5th semester of school for me. I kinda feel more and more like an adult everyday. (isn't that the point?)

We didn't have school Monday or Tuesday due to Fall Break!!!! But sadly....Mike and I headed up to Independence to help mom and dad move!!! (JK mom). Mike was asked to build mom some shelves in the garage for her dishes and i was put in charge of unpacking and washing the dishes. As well as being in charge of the deliveries that happened to be scheduled for the day that mom and dad were gone....i think that they may have planned it that way.....hehe! We had a pretty good time and the most exciting thing is that we get to go back on Saturday to KEEP helping!!!! The wonderful joys of family life!!!!

Now that I'm back in Springfield, school and work is a must. But i have started a new buisness that i want to share with ya'll. I started selling stampin up! which is scrapbooking and card-making supplies. I got my kit today so i'm super pumped!!! Mike wants me to win the cruise for our honeymoon.....we will see! If anyone wants to have a party let me know please!!!!

Mike and I are getting our engagement pics done next Tuesday--please pray it doesn't rain!! i really don't want to reschedule them again!!!

Midterms are OVER!!!

Sorry that i haven't written since Sunday, but i have been a little busy with these things called midterms!!! I'm sitting in the library, ready to take my last one that starts in 20 minutes. This one is the one i'm the most nervous for. I found out yesterday from some students that took it that the study guide is worthless....so i had to just study all 25 pages of typed notes. The first three chapters of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and practically memorize the Sermon on the Mount. I've been faithful with my time and studies so i know the Lord will help me remember the things that I have studied....I just hope that I have studied the right things. LOL!! I have taken 3 other tests this week....which I have gotten all A's on so i was hoping to the keep the streak going. After this midterm its fall break!!
Tomorrow after Mike gets off work we will be heading to Independence to help mom and dad start unpacking the house. WOOHOO! (not really!!) Mike has a small "honey-dew" list from mom and I may be driving back to Iowa on Monday to help with the transportation of the 2nd truck....we will see.....I'm super excited to just be a couple of hours from my mom and dad!!! As soon as the house is unpacked the wedding plans can commence!!!! I'm soooo....excited!!! I'm ready for a break.
We had to reschdule our enagement pictures on Wednesday cuz it decided to rain.....all day!!! I mean all day LONG!!! So now the earliest date the photographer can get us in is early Novemeber.
One last thing, If the people out there could pray for our house in Iowa would sell and sell quickly!!! Thanks i really appreciate it. Well its about test time--so Ta-Ta for now!!!!

Weekend at home

Ok....so from the start i LOVE being a PK most of the time. But today is one of those days when i question it hard!!! I was just sitting there minding my own business in the pew; and all of the sudden dad up and calls me out to come up and help him with an illustration for his sermon. I got up and he proceded to pull mike up there as well to "rehearse" everything that was going to go on the day of my wedding: the walking down the alise, the giving away of the bride, the standing up there awkwardly, the turning around, and the prouncement. Of course it was all a joke and nothing was actually said, but it sure felt weird! And everyone of course was laughing through out the whole thing and i can't remember the point of the illustration. I still love being a PK even though i have my days!!!!! Love you dad!

Also this weekend a bunch of people from iowa headed down to visit!!! We had a blast! We went shopping all afternoon and brooke, madi, and i rode the carousal. Mike and I went swimming with them while the mom's and dad's went out to eat!!! (We had way more fun.) They all now know why i totally dislike the game marco polo!! They also got to witness first hand my sermon illustration that i was apart of as well!! There were more people from iowa that showed up for church on Sunday and we went out to eat with everyone for lunch!!! We had a great time!!!! Love all ya'll!!!!!!

CBC vs. BBC Football

Last night was the annual CBC BBC battle for the holy grail.....its revial flag football game that goes down every year....last night was no different!!! We were up by two touchdowns at the half....then we let them catch up a little and then in the end pull it out!!!! Mom and dad came done for the game and they took us out and fed us after. Tomorrow we head for Independence to hang with some pretty awesom Iowans.....lol.....Until Monday!!

I know that this will just be easier for people to keep up with the Lackey clan. And it may be faster and more up to date cuz i have alot more free time on my hands than mom does...lol...but i still love her!!!! Anyways ta ta for now!!! got to go to class early!!! loves
