one year ago today....

a very special guy got done on one knee and asked me the most important question in a girl's life. as i compared today with last year it was alot the same. super busy and raining. yes raining. anyone who has known mike and i know that whenever anthing big or major happens in our lives it rains. the day he asked me to be his girlfriend, the day we drove to ohio for the first time, our first easter(it actually snowed), the 1st time we rode in an airplane together, the day he proposed, almost all of our anniversaries and so on our wedding day it will rain, so for those of you that will be there--dont be sad for us, it will be following tradition. I even let the photographer in on our secret so he will have alot of cool indoor places for us to take pictures. We never intended to be engaged this long but due to other circumstances beyond our control :) we were unable to get hitched till this summer. Which we both understand it is for the best.

So to celebrate our anniversary mike took me to Disney on Ice. This is the first time ever that Disney on Ice had come to Springfield! And since we moved last year we couldn't go to the one in Des Moines. Mike saw an ad on tv and he mentioned it to me and i went absolutely crazy. Since we are going to Disney World for our honeymoon i have pretty much talked non-stop about all the characters and all the rides, and things i'm going to buy. Mike says that i'm worse than a child. He just looks at me and smiles, so as we sat down tonight mike said that this may hold me over till i see Mickey in 3 weeks. He was way way wrong...it only increased my desire to see Mickey and Minnie. My camera died so i only got to take a few pictures! But there were a few! All i have to say is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE MICKEY & MINNIE!

A Night in the Orient-Jr.Sr. 09

Jr. Sr. is an event that the Jr. Class Council put on for the Seniors as part of their last memories at CBC. This year the theme was A Night in the Orient. It was held at the Hammon's Tower the 21st floor. It was a gorgeous view of Springfield and the Cardinals stadium. Our entertainment was the dragon. He danced his way through the tables ate his dinner then fell asleep. it was super cute and he actually looked real. After the dragon the senior walk began and then the evening was over. we all stood around and took hundreds of pictures! it was so much fun! The older couple that is pictured is our college president, Dr. Denbow. He sat at our table and as we were talking we found out that he knew my grandad! it was so cool to hear about how influenctical my grandad was in life of someone else.

Sr. Trip 2009

Last weekend was the annual sr. trip. we went to the wonderful meto of St. Louis. i was super excited about going, i had driven through it a million times but never actually visited! We left late thrusday night and got back on saturday night late. We went to the zoo, the mall, the city muesum and the arch. We also had a bonfire at a state park on friday night. this trip was probably one of the most fun trips i had ever been on. The st. louis zoo is free and one of the best zoos i had been to. The city muesum is this amazing place where you can climb run through and watch different activities. That was only $12 to get in to. It had a 4 story 'play place' that you can go through. there were abotu 50 seniors that went. most of the time we were lost or not having a clue of where we were going, but that always makes for a great time. On a more serious note since i was a transfer student i didn't come in with most of the people that were on this trip and i noticed that there were tons of different groups opf people going. But thing thing that i also noticed is how un-clique like this group of seniors was. It didnt matter that i didn't go to school with them for 4 years. i was included anyway. i loved it. i kinda wish that i would have come in with them but i know that it was God's purpose that i didn't. The fact that they were so open and welcoming to people that they hadn't hung out with on a normal basis shows how great of leaders that they will be in the ministry. they will be open and welcoming to new students this will make their ministries grow and blossom. Now they have their moments of 'crazyiness' (i.e. jumping over a 5ft bonfire :)) but that just shows that they know how to fun! We did have a few scary moments-crystal got in a minor car accident, everyone was ok but the other person didn't have insurance. And lewis sliced his head open 4 inches and had to 12 staples! it was a great moment. he kept saying, 'make sure you get good pics!' we were dying laughing!! it was great.

I can't believe my time at cbc is almost up. i only have 22 days left....what am i going to do!!! hehe
