This is the first post from the CBC college graduate, Mrs. Michael Pilcher. Graduation was fun, exciting, and sad all rolled into one. I was also awarded the 'Outstanding Student in the Children's Ministries Dept.' I was extremely shocked at this, but also extremely thankful that once again my call has been recongnized the wonderful professors that taught me all the knowledge they had while I was at CBC. Commencement was extremely motivating and it made me what to just go out and save the world. (oh wait, i'm going to do that anyway :)) Chase was our commencement speaker and he along with Dr. Denbow (college president) echoed that same message that had been preached in our chapels earlier that week-don't seek out titles seek out souls for the Kingdom. Now I know that doesn't seem like deep wisdom coming from the commencement speaker or the President of a college but it was a good reminder of what the goal is. We live in a world that pushes one to get promotions and titles and encourages you to step on whoever to get there. But as a preacher, you need to gather all those people along with you and lead them to the cross. They should always see you as a leader.
12 days ago i became Mrs. Michael Pilcher. It was a beautiful ceremony that was attended by great friends and family. It was traditional but with touches of my personality. It was great! We then headed to the Happiest Place on Earth- DISNEY WORLD!!! We spent 7 days there. I was in heaven. I got to see Mickey and Minnie and all my other favorites. We wore "Just Married" buttons around and everyone was congratulating us. It was so much fun! Every place that we went to eat they gave us free desserts! anyone who knows us knows that i was thrilled :)
After our time at Disney, we headed to Ohio for our reception there. It was yesterday evening at Mike's home church-Radiant Life Church. We had around 50 people there. It was a great time of fellowship and people wishing us well.
This morning Mike and I got back in the car to head to PA to visit his grandparents. Mike's grandpa got sick the week of commencement and was in the hospital for close to a week. Due to that they were unable to come to our wedding so since we were so blessed at our wedding we decided to take a short detour and go and visit them.
On Sunday, We start our internship at 1st A/G. We are both excited for the opportunity to work under our favorite pastor. :0) We also are super excited to work under the youth and new children's pastor. We will be there until the middle of Aug. and then we will head back to Springfield for Mike to finish up his last year of school.
