Little Summertime Update

This summer had definatly been one of the most busy summers i have had in along time. Mike and i are working 35+ hours in the church office and helping run our respective ministries. Mike just got back from SOMO camp. Its way different from ohio camp but he said that it was a great experience. Our teenagers were challenged extremely hard to be leaders for Christ in their youth group and in their schools. It was so great to see them entering in in worship and the altar. This week we had Project Discovery for our 1st-8th graders. Each child signed up for 2 classes that interested them and in those classes they were taught how to use their talents for God. We had classes in scrapbooking, sewing, drama, carpenty, puppets, jewlery, and cooking. Eveyday the kids made something that they were encouraged to give away. I taught a class so I don't have any pictures but on Sunday night we are showcasing our works and I will have pictures of that.

Here are some of the acitivities we have been doing lately:

Last wednesday night we a dodgeball tournament after youth group. They had so much fun wailing balls at each other! Dad and the other staff and the deacons also challenged the youth to a game. but the teenagers pulled out and won!

Last Sunday we invited the Somoan church that uses our building on Sunday to lead our Sunday evening service. Pastor Paulo lead amazing worship and also preached a great sermon on witnessing. It was very challenging! They even had a special where everyone from their church came up to sing with motions it was sooo great!

We live less than 5 miles from the Royals stadium and we are able to get really cheap tickets which is what we did for Mike's birthday. Aaron and Kenzie went with us but had to purchase the standing room only tickets because it was such a good game. And luckily the people that had the seats next to us never showed up (prolly b/c of the 1 1/2 rain delay) they got to sit next to us for the whole game!
Mike and I can't beleive that we are moving back to Springfield in 6 weeks....this summer has gone by sooo fast that i feels like it just started....and i don't know what to do about it :)
ta ta for now!
