Water Fun & VBS Set

During our internship, Dad has given me & mike a service that we are to be totally in charge of. We were given a small budget for a promotion and prizes. Tonight's was mike's service-Water Wars. Mike had service just like normal which went really really well. After church there was free pizza and water games. Mike had been trying to get a fire truck to the church to spray the students during it! It was sooo cool....all the students had so much fun! Great job guys! Here are some pics of the fun:

we started decorating for VBS today. we are part of a co-op that goes together and delegates each part of the set to a different church and then once it is completed they pass it around from church to church and we all share it. We were kind of worried as to what condition the set would be in since we are the last church to use it-but our worries were not worth it! The set was in really really good condition- we are getting super pumped fro VBS and there will be many more pics during VBS next week. Here is what the main kids room looks like (once we get all the rooms done i get pics of the those):

on tuesday we had our 2nd kids day out: wacky water day!!! we made a mini slip-n-slide and played games all afternoon. The kids had a blast!!! (and so did the adults:)) The preschoolers were so cute going down the slip-n-slide-they didn't weigh enough or have enough momentum to get all the way down it, so i usually ended up meeting them half way and pulling them down the rest of the way!!! Here are some of the 'wet' pics!!!

A Night out with Madelyn

Tonight i took miss madelyn out to dinner @ olive garden and then we headed to the nail salon to get our nails done. I got a pretty boring color-nude but madelyn got an awesome color-i'm not really a waitress! we laughed so hard about that. Madeyln also got flowers on her nails-she was pretty excited! here are the pictures of our nails:

after our nails we headed to Target to get her imput on our VBS promotion prizes. we walked around the toys and electronics and found something we thought would work, so we bought it! As I was taking her home we started talking about the importance of a daily devotional time. Madelyn shared with me that she already had a daily devotional time, she just started the Mpact program-stars where she is required to read all of the New Testament. She is using that reading plan to keep up with her devotional time. I was so proud of her!!!

An Iowa Weekend

This weekend Mike and I headed to Iowa for my Dr. Appt and one of my closest friends-Alana's wedding. We always stay @ our home away from home-torrie & dallas's. of course their girls-saylee & charlee were excited to see us. I went to the ladies bible study @ berean on friday night with torrie. it was a great time of food, fellowship, and God-time. Torrie shared about keeping our emotions in check. It was really good for me to think about what emotions I need to focus on as a person. all summer I have been giving of myself during services and wednesday night. it was good to focus on myself for a few hours.....ok well alot of hours. we kinda made mike nervous, he woke up @3 and i still wasn't home...but i was home soon after though :) the next day we hung out with the girls outside. we played games and won some and lost some but it was alot of fun. Saturday night we changed clothes and headed out to living history farms to see Alana & Micah get hitched! It was so beautiful and so alana!!!! here are some pics her wedding:
Its Mr. & Mrs. Hidreth!!!-------------3 life-long friends!!
After the wedding Mike & I had to drive all the back to KC for church in the morning. it wasn't a super late night but late enough! We had soo much fun and it was so great to see Alana get married and to see all of our friends up in Iowa!
